At the heart of the X Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 is a custom-designed Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform that is specifically optimized for Galaxy smartphones, which the company claims ensures the highest level of performance across a range of tasks and apps.
The significant price difference between the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 models highlights the different target demographics of each device, with the Z Fold 6 aimed at power users and multitaskers, while the Z Flip 6 is aimed at those who want a more compact and stylish folding option.
Galaxy Z Fold 6: Price and storage options
The book-style Galaxy Z Fold 6 comes in three configurations: Base model: 12GB RAM, 256GB storage. Mid-range option: 12GB RAM, 512GB storage. Premium variant: 12GB RAM, 1TB storage. Pricing for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 starts at $1,899 for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. For users who need more space, Samsung offers two additional variants: the 512GB version costs $2,019 and the larger 1TB model costs $2,259.
Galaxy Z Flip 6: Price and storage options
Both models are available for pre-order now, with the official launch date being July 24. The clamshell-style Galaxy Z Flip 6 comes in two storage options: Standard model: 12GB RAM, 256GB storage. Top-end model: 12GB RAM, 512GB storage.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is the more affordable entry-level model in Samsung’s foldable lineup, priced at $1,099 for the base configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Customers looking for extra storage space can opt for the 512GB model, available for $1,219.
Advanced AI Integration
Both new Samsung foldable smartphone models feature Samsung’s proprietary Galaxy AI capabilities for improved user experience and functionality, and also support Google’s Circle to Search feature and Gemini AI chatbot, expanding the capabilities of its artificial intelligence (AI) and search capabilities.
Long Term Software Support
Samsung has committed to providing both the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 with seven years of Android OS and security updates.

Exclusively for online buyers, Samsung will offer additional customization colorways: the Z Fold 6 will come in Crafted Black and White choices, while the Z Flip 6 will expand the online-exclusive palette to Crafted Black, White, and Peach.

Samsung’s latest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, features dual-SIM functionality with support for both Nano and eSIM options. It comes with Android 14 pre-installed and features Samsung’s custom One UI 6.1.1 interface. At the heart of the device is a specially optimized version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, coupled with a massive 12GB of RAM.
The Z Fold 6 comes with two distinct displays. The outer screen is a 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with HD+ resolution (968×2,376 pixels) and a pixel density of 410ppi. Unfold it and you’ll enjoy a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex display with QXGA+ resolution (1,856×2,160 pixels) and a pixel density of 374ppi. Both screens incorporate adaptive refresh rate technology that can be adjusted between 1Hz and 120Hz for optimal performance and energy efficiency.
Samsung’s compact foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip 6, shares many features with its larger model. It runs on the latest Android version with Samsung’s custom user interface overlay. The device supports dual-SIM functionality, is powered by the same high-performance processor as the Z Fold 6, and has 12GB of RAM. Storage options are expandable up to 512GB.
The device packs in the same suite of connectivity options and sensors as the Z Fold 6. Power is provided by a 4,000mAh battery, which supports the same charging capabilities as its larger sibling. Security is handled by a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and the phone is IP48 rated for dust and water resistance.
For photography, the Z Flip 6 sports a dual-camera setup on the outside. The primary shooter is a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens with dual pixel autofocus, optical image stabilization, and an f/1.8 aperture. This is paired with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a wide 123-degree viewing angle. For selfies and video calling, a 10-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture is housed within the main screen.
The Z Flip 6 comes with two displays. When closed, users interact with a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED cover screen that has a resolution of 720 x 748 pixels, a 60Hz refresh rate and 306 pixels per inch. Unfolding the main internal display reveals a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex panel that offers Full HD+ resolution (1,080 x 2,640 pixels) and features adaptive refresh rate technology that adjusts from 1Hz to 120Hz as needed.
