FLORISSANT, Mo. – The Florissant Police Department is searching for a brazen robber who broke into multiple businesses in one night.
Investigators said the incidents all happened within a 30-minute period between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. on Monday.
The windows and doors are boarded up now, but earlier this morning the situation was different.
The incident began with a break-in at Brennan’s Bar & Grill in the 1700 block of Thunderbird Avenue near Lindbergh. After Brennan’s, the gunman went to a Subway in the 2500 block of North Lindbergh Avenue.
Soon after, the gunmen struck a Qdoba and Edible Arrangements at the Cross Keys Shopping Center in the 14000 block of Newhall’s Ferry. The gunmen also targeted another Subway and a Papa John’s franchise in the 12700 block of Newhall’s Ferry.
The break-ins have residents and business owners in Florissant worried.
“Nobody wants to work these days. Everybody’s trying to take from other people, but half the time you can’t even find a job,” said Kenny X of Rene’s Restaurant & Bar.
A manager at Qdoba said nothing was stolen from the business.
Edible Arrangements’ owners said the perpetrators stole cash and merchandise, and that the incident was recorded on the store’s security camera, which they said has turned over the footage to investigators.
The owner of JC’s Jewelry and Repair Store, located in the same shopping mall, said he was also a victim of a scam several years ago.
“Two years ago my store was robbed at gunpoint. The police knew who did it and they arrested both of them the next day and now they’re both in jail,” JC Severs said.
The robberies continued throughout the early hours of the morning.
“Florissant as a whole is a thriving city, but there are a lot of bad actors here who seem to congregate in the area after hours,” Severs said, “so this isn’t the first time this strip center has been robbed at night, and it won’t be the last.”
Florissant police are asking anyone with information to contact authorities.
