According to the Lviv Regional Government report, the team “Feel Touch” from Novoyavolovsk Vocational School won a bronze medal at the Gen E European Youth Entrepreneurship Festival in Italy.
Competing against 40 other projects from across Europe, the team developed an innovative device that helps people with disabilities operate equipment. Designed for people with hand injuries, paralysis or upper limb amputations, the device allows them to use phones, TVs, tablets and laptops without having a hard surface underneath. Control is enabled by spatial navigation. The development marks a major advancement in assistive technology.
The students, Roman Khomyuk (CEO), Oleksandr Tarasiuk (CFO), Lyubov Sloboda (Production Director), Krystyna Paliuk (Marketing Director) and Veronika Khimyak (Sales Director), participated in Junior Achievement Ukraine’s “Company” program and then participated in the “Business Skills for Economic Growth” project by JA Ukraine and #Skills4Recovery. They won the National Youth Entrepreneurship Competition and had the opportunity to represent Ukraine at the European Youth Entrepreneurship Festival Gen E in Italy.
“The third place of the Ukrainian team is an outstanding achievement. It is unprecedented for a country that has only been part of the Junior Achievement network for two years,” Andriy Turak, Development Director of Junior Achievement Ukraine, emphasized.
Public organization Junior Achievement, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Lviv Oblast Government, vocational and technical education institutions in Lviv and other regions, is creating excellent opportunities for Ukrainian young people to start their own enterprises.
