Reliance Jio has launched a new tracking device called the JioTag Air. It is the successor to last year’s JioTag and comes with a host of new features. Unlike the JioTag which only worked with the JioThings app, the JioTag Air is also compatible with Apple’s Find My feature. Here are the details:
Features of JioTag Air
JioTag Air is a sophisticated asset tracking tool that helps you locate and track valuable items that are easily misplaced or lost, such as keys, ID cards, wallets, handbags, luggage, pets, etc. It works on both iOS and Android devices. It is compatible with iPhones running iOS14 and above, and Android 9 and above.
It comes with Bluetooth version 5.3 for wireless device tracking. The device has a built-in speaker that can emit a loud sound ranging from 90-120db to help locate lost items. As mentioned earlier, it works with both the Apple Find My network and the JioThings app. However, users can only select one app at a time.
Android users can pair with the JioThings app and track tagged items through the app itself. For Apple users, when paired with the Apple Find My app, the JioTag Air continuously transmits Bluetooth signals and can be found by nearby devices in the Find My network, such as iPhones, iPads, and Macs. These devices send the location of the JioTag Air to iCloud. Apple users can share tagged items through the Apple Find My app with other Apple users. Additionally, you can access Apple’s Find My app to locate items connected to the JioAirTag on a map. Enabling Lost Mode will send an automatic notification to the paired Apple device when a lost item is discovered on the Apple Find My network.
JioTag Air price and availability
The JioTag Air is listed at a suggested retail price of Rs 2,999 on the company’s website, but can also be purchased for Rs 1,499. The device comes in blue, red and grey colour variants. Bank offers listed on the site include cashback on payments made using Paytm, CredUPI and select credit cards.
