Violet Affleck isn’t just resting on her famous parents’ success: She’s standing up for herself in front of key local government officials.
The daughter of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner appeared before the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday to speak out about an issue close to her heart: maintaining mask mandates in Los Angeles hospitals.
Check out the video… After introducing herself, the recent high school graduate recounted her own experience of contracting the virus in 2019 and suffering from long-term post-viral symptoms, adding that it made her realise that medicine cannot address all the effects of the virus.
Post-viral symptoms are aftereffects that last for months after contracting a virus. One example is “long Covid,” or symptoms that linger long after the actual Covid virus has been fought off. It is unclear what post-viral symptoms Violet had.
Violet said the post-viral situation will “exacerbate the homelessness issue and suffering of many in the city,” arguing that those in minority communities will be hit hardest.
She wants … the VA to require mask availability, air filtration, installation of far-UV (germicidal ultraviolet) light in government facilities, and to require mask wearing in county health care facilities. She also wants the county to oppose any form of mask ban.
By the way, Violet is still wearing a mask… She arrived to the conference wearing a white N95 mask, a similar face covering to the one she wore to Michael Rubin’s famous Hamptons White Party in 2022.
Affleck turned 18 just a few months ago, and while the family is keeping quiet about her plans for now, it looks like politics may be on the agenda!
