Virginia Tech’s new uniforms were officially unveiled Thursday.
The school released a series of photos on social media showcasing the Hokies’ new home and away uniforms for the 2024 season.
The announcement did not include player nameplates on the back of the uniforms, but Virginia Tech later confirmed that names will be printed on the back of the uniforms.
The uniforms were originally scheduled to be released on Friday, but were leaked in the upcoming EA Sports College Football 25 video game (courtesy of Matej Sis of 247Sports), so the university decided to announce them early.
The new Nike uniforms feature the removal of the shoulder pad stripes that were part of the team’s previous jerseys. The white helmets resemble the Hokies’ 2023 version, but the maroon helmets no longer have a center stripe.
Virginia Tech improved in 2023 under head coach Brent Pry, finishing the season with a 7-6 record after going 3-8 in 2022. The Hokies’ 2023 season ended on a high as they defeated Tulane University in the Military Bowl by a final score of 41-20.
Prye’s team will have some familiar faces next season, as quarterback Kyron Draughns will return after completing 17 touchdown passes after just three interceptions last season.
Starting running back Beischul Tuten will also return to the team in 2024 after rushing for 863 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2023. He was also effective in the passing game, hauling in 27 catches for 239 yards and two more scores.
The Hokies will look to continue their climb up the ACC standings next season and will have some new faces on the field.
